Will Rice

Executive Director

Will Rice is the Executive Director at Soccer FC. He brings extensive experience in business ownership, operations management, and nonprofit development, combining strategic thinking with servant-minded leadership. Throughout his career, Will has been dedicated to creating meaningful community impact and empowering others to reach their full potential. He is especially passionate about youth development, literacy, and sports-based outreach, believing that mentorship, education, and access to opportunities are powerful tools for shaping futures, strengthening families, and building stronger, more resilient communities. Will’s long-term vision includes expanding programs that serve vulnerable populations and fostering inclusive environments where every child can thrive.

Katie Hunter

Director of Operations

Katie oversees the Greater Goals program and supports the organization’s day-to-day operations. Her work with Greater Goals began in 2023 during her time with Charlotte FC, and she has continued helping expand and strengthen the program’s impact across Charlotte. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with degrees in Sports Administration and Business, grounding her work in operational excellence and community-focused leadership.

Jeremy Sorzano

Board Chair

​Jeremy is one of the founders of Soccer Shots Charlotte and Soccer Shots Franchising. Jeremy moved to Charlotte in 1996 to play with the Charlotte Eagles and soon after started running soccer clinics for children all over the city at childcare centers and preschools. He’s always had a passion to positively impact children and help them fall in love with the game of soccer. Soccer Shots has since grown and now is run all over the country by small business owners looking to impact children positively in the communities they live in as well. Jeremy lives in Charlotte with his wife Lisa and two children.

Jaime Cardenas

Jaime is the CEO and co-Founder of AC&M Group, a cultural marketing agency based in Charlotte. He moved from Mexico to North Carolina in 1998 to work for Hanesbrands. After earning his MBA from Wake Forest University, he started the agency in 2004 at the WFU Business Incubator. Over the last 16 years, Jaime has led AC&M Group to become one of the leading Multicultural and Sports agencies in the U.S. He has developed soccer marketing strategies for multiple sponsors, including Fortune 100 companies. He has also worked with athletic brands, soccer retailers, international soccer leagues and clubs, and youth soccer organizations. Jaime lives in Huntersville, NC with his wife and four sons.

Dustin Swinehart

Dustin has an extensive resume working within the Charlotte soccer community, including as a partner at Soccer Shots Charlotte and previously working for Charlotte FC and coaching at Charlotte Country Day school. Dustin also served as executive director of Project 658, which advocates for refugee and low-income communities in East Charlotte. Swinehart, who grew up in Ohio, played Division I college soccer at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Dustin lives in Charlotte with his wife Betty and four children Tyler, Bryce, Dylan, and Avary.

Andrew Odze

Andrew is a sought-after advisor by Boards of Directors, CEO’s and c-suite executives and engages in c-suite succession, team acceleration, and business transformation initiatives for industry-leading clients. As both a clinical and organizational psychologist, he is uniquely qualified in the management consulting industry to understand and shape the behavior of individual leaders, maximize the effectiveness of leadership teams, and guide organizations in enacting transformational change. Andrew lives in Charlotte with his wife and two soccer-loving sons.

Kate Goepp

Kate is a long-time supporter of the Soccer Foundation of Charlotte and an avid soccer fan. Professionally, she works as a learning and development leader for a major management consulting firm, bringing extensive expertise in talent development, leadership strategy, and organizational growth to the board. Kate is passionate about leveraging sports to drive positive community impact and youth development. She lives in Charlotte with her husband, Neil.

Lawrence Watts

Lawrence recently retired as Managing Director of the Capital Markets Group at Ansley Park Capital, bringing more than 30 years of experience in leasing, capital markets, and project finance. A lifelong soccer player, he competed at UNC after winning two state championships and still plays competitively year-round. Lawrence is active in his church and community, enjoys playing guitar, and has been married to his wife Tracy for 33 years. They have two sons, Adam and Daniel.

Laura Megahee

Laura Megahee is a tax partner at RSM with more than 25 years of experience providing tax consulting and compliance services to clients across a variety of industries. Her expertise includes federal tax, mergers and acquisitions, internationally active businesses, and private equity-owned companies. A lifelong athlete, Laura is passionate about expanding access to sports and believes athletics help young people build confidence, character, and skills that support lifelong success.
